That is I believe the most common blood type, something like half of the UK population is blood type O so it figures that it'll be found much more often in DayZ. (Hello, barbed wire issue/dead soldier body that the mod had for 2 straight months) It might improve but it'll take months and from previous experience Rocket is much like toady in that he loves to put 20 broken features in rather than fix one game breaking bug. Not being able to shoot because of a nulls hit mouse acceleration mechanic is even more so. Needing 30,000 calories and 9 gallons of water in a day is absurd. Some of the milestones are like "that poo poo was nailed down by the second month of the mod, what the hell." It doesn't help that many of the standalone additions are designed to make shooting or doing things harder or more tedious. The funny thing is that in a lot of ways stuff is a big step back from the mod. Give a locale or backpack color, ask for a wiggle, don't get one then shoot.Įveryone did great tonight and it was awesome scaring the poo poo out of some pubbies with a goon army. Ask for a wiggle! Taking a solid fifteen seconds to ask about backpack color and clothes is going to get you killed. At some point in the future it will support mods again and will probably be fun. It might improve, it might become even more spergy. There's some fun to be had in this game but it's only the first week of Alpha. General Wonkiness - seems to be a design goal.ĥ. Hacking - No, there's less of it but stuff still happens. Is this game worth the $30 or so if I've had my fun with the original mod, or is it truly a step up in terms of execution etc?ġ. Will people still get randomly get transported 50,000 feet into the air only to watch themselves fall to the ground and die by random hackers? Is the game still, I don't know, as indescribably wonky as it was before?Īlso, I've heard about stuff like blood types for the transfusions etc and frankly that doesn't sound fun. So I was a big fan of this thing when it was an ARMA mod, but now that it's standalone, I wonder if they've fixed the major problems with this game: I.e., hacking, and general wonkiness.

If you've got more than one person you could have one person cross at a time or do a bounding overwatch. Think "if someone starts shooting at me, where can I go and what do I do?" No answer? Then find a better route. If you move right over the top of a hill you can "silhouette" at any time of day or night and become very visible very quickly. If I have to move through an open area, do a 360 degree check, see if there is any movement or anyone waiting, and move quickly while hugging any available terrain and staying crouched. I always try to keep a hundred or so yards into a treelined area. There's way too many places you can see for miles and shoot through any clearing at some poor sucker. Never travel through an open field in Chernarus unless you're hugging a map border to the blank zone.
